Timeline

2000

Foundation Incorporated

The original SkillsUSA VICA Development Foundation was incorporated as a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization. Started with a donation from the Kentucky VICA – National VICA Conference account, generated through National Courtesy Corps Auctions.

2000

Original Board Established

Original board members: Alan Gray, Dennis Parker, James G. Hodge, Ed Purdom, and Randy Horn. Formed to provide supplemental support for SkillsUSA KY special activities.

2019

New Board Formed

The original foundation board was dissolved and a new KY SkillsUSA Foundation board was formed. Initial members: John Marks, Wayne King, and Kristen Kirkland.

2024

501(c)(3) Status GrantedMILESTONE

The IRS granted 501(c)(3) status, allowing tax-deductible donations from individuals and corporations. Now actively building our donor base.

The Foundation supports KY SkillsUSA by providing funds that enable students to compete at a high level and develop leadership skills beneficial for years to come. Funding may be allocated for a variety of uses including these examples
